For more than 5 years Oasis Restaurant on Lake Travis has been an iconic destination for both locals and visitors alike. When tragedy stuck in 2004 which destroyed much of the restaurant, the owner Beau Theriot turned tragedy into opportunity and reinvisioned his property in to a destination for restaurants and retail shops.
The Oasis Texas development is quickly becoming a “best of Austin” get-away with hopes to encompass the friendly natured spirit of Austin local businesses’ in a unique small village atmosphere. The new development partnership determined that the Blue Genie Art Bazaar holiday event was the perfect candidate to be one of their first retail stores. The Blue Genie Art Bazaar and Blue Genie Art have over the last 13 years, helped establish a company that could proudly represent the Austin art scene. This kind of company was ideal for the owner’s vision of the Oasis.
Blue Genie helps local artists create a name for their selves and gain popularity. The Blue Genie Art Bazaar features the work of over 130 artists and craftspeople. Each artist with merchandise in our store is hand selected by the artists at Blue Genie. All live and work locally in central Texas. Our vendors offer all sorts of imaginative, quirky, and beautiful products: paintings, sculptures, jewelry, clothing, accessories, glassworks, ceramics, prints, photography, and plenty of miscellany and surprises that you can’t find anywhere else.
Blue Genie at Oasis Texas offers a space for up and coming artists to sell their art in an organized professional workplace. This liberates artists to be in their studios creating more work to meet the demands of commissioners. Blue Genie has helped many local artists get their feet off the ground and become successful.
